Behind the Scenes: How We Built Our SEO Audit Checklist

A look at the process and decisions behind our most popular tool — and how you can use it today.

We wanted to create an SEO audit checklist that didn't overwhelm. So we asked 50 e-commerce owners: 'What's the one thing you'd fix if you only had an hour?' The top answers: broken links, missing meta descriptions, and slow images.

We structured the checklist in three tiers: quick wins (30 minutes), monthly maintenance (2 hours), and quarterly deep dives (half a day). Each item includes a one-line 'why' and a tool recommendation. For example, 'Check for duplicate titles using Screaming Frog — it costs you rankings.'

We tested it with 10 beta users. The average time to complete the quick wins dropped from 45 to 22 minutes. One user found 14 broken links that were hurting their product pages. After fixing them, their homepage rank improved by 3 positions.
